Westoning is identified as a Large Village in the emerging Core Strategy.

There are 39 Large and Small Villages and together these villages need to make provision for a total of 400 new homes up to 2026, over and above existing sites with planning permission. New small-scale rural employment sites may also be considered. The Core Strategy indicates that allocations will mainly be made in Large Villages and only exceptionally in Small Villages.

Site Name/Address: Land at Flitwick Road, Westoning

Submitted proposal: Residential development of 50-75 dwellings. The relocation of the village's outdoor recreational facilities is also proposed on the site.

Site Area (hectares): 7.47

Additional information submitted: Recreational facilities are proposed to include 4 netball pitches, 4 tennis courts, 2 football pitches and a pavilion and parking.

Westoning is identified in the emerging Core Strategy as a large Village . Smaller scale development would be expected here. However, this site is within the Green Belt and residential development would be contrary to the emerging Core Strategy.
